KIM ANDERSON
I caught up with Kim Anderson this past week and asked her some questions. I’ll be blogging about those answers as well as statements she provided as one of the five nominees for Emerging Entrepreneur.
What is Kim’s true passion? The best way to answer that is to tell you how she and her daughter, Ava, began the business. Her daughter saw a news report about dangerous toxic chemicals in beauty products. They immediately through all the beauty products in the house away. Then it became clear to them that not only for their generations but for all the generations to come, they needed to find a way to create non toxic beauty supplies.
Both Kim and Ava are passionate about making a difference to woman all over the world by providing safe, non toxic, beauty supplies while also providing an opportunity for women, and men, to rapidly build a growing income!
SMALL BUSINESS COACH: MARKETING IDEAS
As a small business coach, I know how important marketing ideas are. I got Kim to open up and share her best marketing idea! Here it is: it is having consultants. Unlike a MLM, which often rewards members for bringing more people in to the funnel, the direct sales program that Ava Anderson Non Toxic uses rewards their consultants for making sales to women who will use their products.
SMALL BUSINESS COACH: ADVICE TO START UPS
Kim gave three pieces of advice to new entrepreneurs:
- Know your market
- Have enough cash
- Have passion for what you do
Kim added to be prepared to work long hours (I keep wondering where the “4 hour workweek” exists because as an entrepreneur who has built and sold companies, I have to confess, I too never found it) and stay committed to your goals.
WHY EMPLOYEES WOULD WORK FOR KIM
While most of the people who work for Ava Anderson Non Toxic are independent consultants, they do have six employees. Kim says they work there because it is FUN. It is a fun office that is fast moving with unlimited opportunity. This is a ground floor opportunity and the people who come on board now and shy rocket to fast sales.
SMALL BUSINESS COACH: VALUES DRIVE BUSINESS
Kim has three top values:
- Platinum Rule: treat others as they would want to be treated (not how you want to be treated as it is their wants that matter.) This translates into profits because it induces people to buy.
- Reliability: do what you say. This increases profits because people know they can trust you so they feel comfortable buying from you.
- Honesty and Transparency: This builds trust and customers know that the products are what they claim. This increases sales.

It is one of the fastest growing direct sales companies in the country. They offer quality revolutionary products, made in America, without harmful chemicals for humans and the environment. These include skin care, hair care, cosmetics, body care and sunscreen.
