NLP BUSINESS COACHING – AUDITORY MODALITIES PATTERNS – PART 2

In the last blog, I told you what a submodality is and the visual submodalities. Then I gave you an NLP Coaching on how to use this information to access a person’s buying decisions that they were happy with versus a buying decision they were unhappy with or didn’t result in a purchase.

Today I am going to discuss the auditory submodalities. In the same way you had a person access an experience and then notice their visual submodalities, you have them access that same experience and find out their auditory submodalities.

Auditory submodalities:

1.       Volume – are the sounds loud, soft, or moderate

2.       Tempo – do you have a fast or slow tempo to the sounds

3.       Pitch – are the sounds high, low, or moderate pitch

4.       Stereo versus mono – do you hear it differently on both sides or the same

5.       Location – are the sonds close, faraway, right, left, above, below

6.       Harmony – do the sounds blend harmoniously or are they discordant

7.       Rhythm – do the sounds form a rhythm or are they non rhythmic

8.       Intensity – do you hear the sounds intensely

9.       Direction – are they sounds moving toward you or going away from you

Practice accessing these on your own experiences then ask a friend or co-worker to let you ask them about their auditory submodalities. Now, Ask a prospect/client two questions. First ask them to access a time when they made a great buying decision that they are still happy about today. Then contrast the submodalities for this with those for a bad buying decision. This is either something they are unhappy with today or a purchase they decided not to make.

YOU want your prospect or client to be having the auditory submodalities for a happy buying decision when they are thinking about purchasing your product or service.

Do this by “installing” those in them when you talk about your product/service. Literally ask them to imagine owning your product or service  then tell them to imagine the same auditory submodalities (tell them these specifically – imagine it “loud” “close” “fast tempo” etc, whatever submodalities match theirs for a great buying decision.

Ecological Check: always be sure that what you recommend to the customer matches their values and is right for them rather than using the NLP as a manipulative technique. Then the NLP and your selling will be congruent with your buyer and they will be happy to come back again.
